From Makabayan Wear, these are large Yakan hoop earrings made out of upcycled handwoven fabric.
The fabric was handwoven in Yakan indigenous communities in Basilan, Mindanao. The specific pattern is called "sinaluan" which is inspired from Philippine bamboo. It is typically used in traditional clothing.
Every purchase supports their livelihood and preservation of their unique weaving traditions.
